Working store rewards can seem difficult at first glance. To give you an example of one of my transactions at Walgreens, I had $23 on my store card as reward money. My goal this week is to stock up on Irish Spring and Soft Soap body washes. My transaction consisted of four Irish Springs bottles and four Soft Soap bottles. I used four Irish Spring $1 coupons from The Daily Times Sunday inserts and $20 from my Walgreens Store Card. The total before any coupons and bonus points, used was $31.92.

I paid using coupons and store bonus points leaving my cash balance at $7.92. This purchase allowed me to receive Every Day points 180, Beauty Club 5,000 points, April Birthday Points 1,620 and body wash promotion 20,000. This left a total of 26,800 points back on my card equaling $26. The goal is always to keep extra store rewards for the next week.

CVS has almost the same type of promotion with Irish Spring. My transaction consisted of four Irish Spring body washes. Total before coupons and store reward was $15.96.

I used four $1 coupons from Smart Source 04-08 and $5 store reward. My out-of-pocket expense with tax was $8.03. After payment I received a store reward called Extra Buck, $8.

Showing you two different stores and the steps of using store rewards and coupons together hopefully shows the actions used to meet your goals in saving money.

Remember, as you save money with couponing, make sure you take advantage of your savings with the 52-week money saving plan. This is the 15th week of the year. Place $15 into your savings program. This would leave a new savings balance of $120 toward your year-end goal of $1,378.
