On Monday, Oct. 7, writer Hannah Pittard will read as part of the University of Tennessee Creative Writing Series.

Pittard is the author of four novels, including "Visible Empire" (a New York Times 'New and Noteworthy' selection) and "Listen to Me" (a New York Times Editors' Choice). She currently directs the MFA Program in Creative Writing at the University of Kentucky.

The reading begins at 7 p.m. in the Lindsay Young Auditorium in Hodges Library on the University of Tennessee Campus. The event is free and open to the public; all are encouraged to attend. 

Books will be available for purchase from Union Ave Books at the event.

The mission of the UT Creative Writing Series is to feature “writers of fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction from around the country and around the world.” The series is sponsored by the University of Tennessee Department of English.
