HOW BLOUNT COPES: Shelling peanuts

Donna Boone’s grandchildren (from left) Rebecca Boone, Walker Davis, Brady Boone and Charity Davis shell peanuts as they prepare to make some homemade treats for the birds. The kids were very resourceful and used materials they had on hand. Shell, then chop peanuts. Apply peanut butter liberally to paper towel or toilet paper roll. Turn the peanut butter based roll over and over until it is coated with the chopped nuts. Display anywhere birds can enjoy. Attracts many varieties, especially blue birds.
