Maryville's AAA office at 715 W. Lamar Alexander Parkway was forced to temporarily close Friday after a car driven by a senior citizen slammed into the building around noon.

The car stopped after hitting the back wall, causing extensive damage to a side wall facing the roadway and the interior of the office.

A customer who was sitting inside was taken to the hospital but wasn't seriously injured.

Those needing AAA service should contact outlets in Knoxville.
