Dennis Dinwiddie (left), of Clarksville, leaves Blount County Court House Tuesday after pleading guilty in Juvenile Court to a charge of delinquency pursuant to criminally negligent homicide in the shooting death of Skyler Daniel Boring on May 28, 2013.

An 18-year-old man pleaded guilty Tuesday in Blount County Juvenile Court to criminally negligent homicide in the shooting death of a 17-year-old Maryville teen last year.

Dennis Dinwiddie, of Clarksville, pleaded guilty to a charge of delinquency pursuant to criminally negligent homicide in the shooting death of Skyler Daniel Boring on May 28, 2013. The shooting happened at a residence on East Lamar Alexander Parkway in Walland. Boring was fatally shot in the chest with a shotgun.

Blount County authorities arrested and charged Dinwiddie May 23, just five days shy of a year after the incident.

A hearing was held today in Blount County Juvenile Court, and Blount County Juvenile Judge William T. Denton accepted a guilty plea on Dinwiddie’s behalf.

Denton said he could not say specifically what kind of punishment, if any, would follow as a result of the plea.
