Chart summarizes COVID-19 active cases, hospitalizations and deaths over the last week and 30 days as of Sept. 20 for Blount County, its surrounding counties and for Tennessee. It also provides vaccination data as of Sept. 22.
The state corrected a change in its data flow on Aug. 30 that increased the number of hospitalized COVID patients substantially. It was NOT a one-day increase but as the adjustments were all pre-dated and could not be indicated another way, the increase is reflected as the Aug. 30 total and will show an expanded total for several days.
As of May 10, the state has altered its daily reporting of case data which makes it impossible to accurately show values for daily positives or active cases. The hospitalized and death values are based on the first daily value the state reported for that date. The state now actively revises the values for previous days following initial release. Complaints about this new practice can be directed to the state’s COVID line at 877-857-2945 or by contacting your state representative or state senator.
