Landon Davis was valedictorian and Ethan Hathcock salutatorian for Heritage High School’s Class of 2019, which graduated Monday.
Davis, the son of Keith and Renee Davis, is a member of Student Council and the National Honor Society and chairman of the Heritage High School Republicans.
In the SkillsUSA competition for Robotics: Urban Search and Rescue, he won first place at the state level in 2016-18, first place at nationals in 2017 and third place at nationals in 2016 and 2018.
Davis earned Daily Times Academic Letters in language arts, social studies, science and math 2016-18, was nominated as an HHS Student of Distinction in 2017, studied in Heritage’s STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) program, and received awards in 2017 and 2018 at the Roane State Academic Festival, for the History Bowl and literary analysis.
He plans to attend Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville and major in civil engineering.
Hathcock is the son of Greg and Pam Hathcock.
He is Student Council president, an AP Scholar with distinction, National Merit commended scholar, four-star academic letter recipient, WBIR and LMU Scholar of the Week, Youth Leadership Blount graduate, Fellowship of Christian Athletes huddle leader, member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club, baccalaureate chaplain, and was voted Mr. HHS.
Hathcock is a four-year letterman in cross country, tennis and swimming; an All-State swimmer; nominee for Knox-News Swimmer of the Year; and Wendy’s High School Heisman State Finalist.
He plans to attend Wingate University in North Carolina, where he will major in biology and be a member of the men’s swim team.
