The Blount County Public Library will host the third presentation of the Focus on Seniors series — a class to help people who are confused about open enrollment. The program will be held Wednesday, Nov. 20 and is co-sponsored by the library and the Blount County Office on Aging.

Open enrollment is a month-and-half period in which people pick their health insurance plans for the following year.

To avoid confusion, Joani Shaver, director of the Blount County Office on Aging, and Pat Collins from B.S. Pharmacy will give a presentation on Medicare and drug plan options for 2020.

A representative from State Health Insurance Assistance also will be available at the event from 9-11 a.m. and noon to 4 p.m. to answer questions regarding health care. The SHIP representative will only be available by appointments that can be made by calling 844-887-7447.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Blount County Public Library. For more information, call the library at 865-982-0981 or visit the website at
