A Magical Fairy Festival and Craft Show will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 at Sam Houston Schoolhouse State Historic Site. In addition to several crafters, there will also be food trucks on site. Games for kids will be part of the festivities along with a reverse beauty pageant at 1 p.m. Participants are encouraged to wear their worst fairy or mystical, mythical creature costumes. Prizes will be awarded.

In addition, local author Stan Johnson will be here. He is the author of "Our Little Secret: A Smoky Mountains Family Saga and Coming of Age Story Inspired by True Crimes."

The site and museum, located at 3650 Old Sam Houston School Road, Maryville,  will be open free of charge. Costumed characters will roam the grounds and music will be provided.
