Maryville High School plans to honor the memory of longtime administrator Bill Driskill by placing a plaque recognizing him at one of its athletic facilities.

As MHS principal from 1968-90, Driskill supervised the construction of the football stadium, added softball, soccer and wrestling to the school’s sports program and served on regional and state committees with the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association.

Driskill’s family was recognized between the MHS basketball games Jan. 25.

Driskill, who died Dec. 1, had been inducted into the TSSAA Hall of Fame in 1992 and in 2006 received the Distinguished Service Award from the Maryville City Schools Foundation.
