A 35-year-old Maryville man has been arrested and charged in connection with the rape of two boys.

Leslie Elton Obanion, Coker Road, was taken into custody by Blount County Sheriff’s deputies around 8 p.m. Monday on two warrants of child rape, a report from the BCSO said.

BCSO took over the investigation that was initially headed up by Alcoa Police Department after determining the crimes had been committed in at least two Blount County residences.

According to the BSCO release, Obanion admitted to investigators that between November 2018 and September 2019, he sexually molested two underage males.

The boys are ages 10 and 11 and are not related to Obanion, the report said.

Obanion was arrested at his home Monday night and is being held in lieu a $1 million bond pending a 9 a.m. hearing on Oct. 18 in Blount County’s General Sessions Court.

The investigation is ongoing.
