Alcoa Police officers are investigating a Sunday night shooting in which no one was injured and that Chief David Carswell said did not appear to be a random drive-by.
The 911 call came in at about 7:18 p.m. from the Perkins Street and Vose Road area, Carswell said.
Several witnesses reported hearing multiple shots and when a mother called to say her adult son's vehicle had been struck by a round, officers tried to interview him.
"Her son was being very uncooperative with officers," the chief said. "We couldn't get a lot of information out of him. It doesn't seem to be a random act but a beef among certain individuals."
Another vehicle also reported being hit by a round, and officers recovered a shell casing. Carswell did not know the caliber.
"This is still being investigated," he said late Sunday.
