A trip into the wrong house ended in aggravated burglary and public intoxication charges early Wednesday in Maryville.

Maryville police found 41-year-old Geneva L. Amerson sitting on the porch of an East Harper Avenue residence when they arrived at 3:45 a.m.

She was screaming at the occupants and had tried to bite one of them before police arrived, according to reports.

One of the residents, a 36-year-old man, told officers he taped Amerson with a phone after he woke up at 3:30 a.m. and found her in the kitchen throwing food items throughout the residence.

When he asked her what she was doing, Amerson reportedly began to scream and curse at him.

She also had to be restrained until police arrived, police said, and tried to bite the resident.

Amerson, who lives in Toledo, Ohio, reportedly entered through an unlocked door, but doesn’t know anyone who lives there.

She was charged with aggravated robbery and public intoxication.

Amerson was being held on a $10,500 bond pending a 9:30 a.m. hearing Aug. 13 in Blount County General Sessions Court.
