The Blount County Jaycees announced Friday, Dec. 2, that Saturday's Christmas parade will start one hour later than originally scheduled, to allow people to line up without the possibility of rain.
The lineup now is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and the parade at noon Saturday, Dec. 3.
The parade has more than 140 entries and is expected to draw more than 35,000 spectators. It will begin at New Midland Plaza and turn right onto Calderwood Avenue (North Cusick Street in Maryville). At the top of the hill (downtown Maryville), it will turn right onto West Broadway Avenue and West Lamar Alexander Parkway, ending before New Providence Presbyterian Church.
