KNOXVILLE — A half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., will be coming to Knox County.

On Thursday, Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett joined members of the Vietnam Veterans of America Capt. Bill Robinson Chapter 1078 and representatives from Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home to announce “The Wall That Heals” will be located on the funeral home property, 2300 Adair Drive, and open to the public 24 hours a day from Oct. 4-8, free of charge.

“Anyone who’s seen the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington knows how powerful it is and the impact of seeing those 58,318 names,” Burchett said in a release. “Our service members leave their families, the comfort of their homes and put their lives on the line so we can live in the greatest country on Earth. Having ‘The Wall That Heals’ here in our community offers us a chance to honor their service and sacrifice.”
