According to a statement from the Blount County Sheriff's office the vehicle involved in the hit and run of a bicyclist on Friday evening has been located. BCSO was offering a $1,000 reward for any information that would lead the arrest of the driver who allegedly struck a bicyclist.

Deputies responded to a report that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at Peterson Lane near Old Niles Ferry Road at approximately 8 p.m., according to a press release sent by BCSO early Saturday. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene following the collision.

BCSO’s investigation determined Christopher Sample, 36, was riding a bicycle on Peterson Lane toward Maryville when he was struck.

Sample was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center’s intensive care unit. He remains in critical condition.
