Dear Editor:

Our library is a welcoming, quiet place open to people of all ages with materials and activities for the diverse population it serves. If an item, such as a book, is not there, every effort will be made to get it for the borrower. The library is an integral part of education and must flourish and update. The staff there is easily accessible and outstanding, and that includes the director.

Perhaps the time has come to look at private pay to enhance tax support of the library. This is done in other places. Possibly a $25-per-year-per-household library card. Thought needs to be given to private pay.

Our library must grow and not downsize in any way. There is no where else we can go to enjoy an hour or a day surrounded by all kinds of materials and people to help us. We need it very much.
