Dear Editor:

On July 15, the tree crew from the Blount County Highway Department took down two trees that were in the county ditch line in front of my house. One had grown really tall and over the road; the other was a dead pine.

I am so grateful to these men and so should the people who travel our road, along with the Alcoa Electric Department. They did a great job from start to finish, and the danger is no longer present from these trees.

As a reminder, we residents would be grateful if you travel this road (Bert Garner Lane) the posted speed of 35 mph. A lot of us are elderly and don't move as well as we once did.

Thank you, Blount County Highway Department, and God bless each of you.
