Dear Editor:

I am very disappointed in how the president made a spectacle of the Fourth of July celebration. He turned one of the most important American holidays into an event for himself. Not to mention the money that was spent on this could have been used for so many other important things.

It was reported that funds were diverted from our national parks to help pay for this event. Our parks are the country's treasures and taking money from them to be spent in this manner is totally unacceptable.

We need to remember that the Fourth of July is a time to reflect back on how this country was founded. It's not a time to promote one person's ego.
