Physical education teacher Alex Rouse leads John Sevier Elementary students in exercises in front of the screen for the Lü interactive playground system, which offers more than two dozen ways to combine movement with learning. Rouse and third grade teacher Amanda Mullen wrote a grant proposal to the Maryville City Schools Foundation, which provided $18,000, and the school funded the remaining $3,000 cost. The system includes not only a camera, projector and sound and light system but also new applications and updates for two years.
