Andre Lipcius homered in the fourth inning as part of a three-RBI day to lead the Tennessee baseball team to a 5-0 victory over visiting Gardner-Webb on Tuesday night at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
Lipcius was the only Vols player with multiple hits. His two-run home run in opened the scoring. His RBI single in the eighth inning ended it. Tennessee is 31-11.
Ricky Martinez had a hand in both Tennessee runs during the seventh inning. He drove in the first with a single and stole home for the second.
Eight Tennessee pitchers combined for the shutout, which is its NCAA-leading ninth of the season. Camden Sewell (4-0) pitched the first 4 1/3 innings to earn the win.
