The Maryville College and William Blount High School volleyball teams earned academic awards from the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

It is the second year in a row for William Blount, which had a team GPA of 3.72 during the 2018-19 school year.

Initiated in 1992, the award recognizes teams that maintain at least a 3.30 GPA on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 GPA on a 5.0 scale.

For the 2018-19 school year, the award went to 1,125 high school and college teams, which beat the record of 977 that was set last year. Girls high school teams led the way with 444 recipients.
