The Maryville College men's soccer season ended on Friday night with a 1-0 loss to North Carolina Wesleyan in the semifinals of the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament.

The teams were scoreless through 82 minutes at Covenant College when Wesleyan finally broke through. Matteo Costa hit a shot to the far post that Maryville goalkeeper Mykal Manfred punched to his left side of the penalty area.

The ball fell to Wesleyan's Dominique Giovanni, who hit a right-footed shot into the net to give the Bishops a spot in Saturday's championship game.

Wesleyan outshot Maryville 17-8 and forced Manfred to make eight saves. The Scots hit five shots on target, including two apiece by Johnny Rakhmonberdiev and Austin Vinyard.

The Scots conclude the season with an 11-9 record.
