The Maryville College volleyball team is one step away from the NCAA Tournament following its 18th consecutive victory on Friday night.

Maryville defeated Meredith 25-12, 25-20, 20-25, 25-17 in the semifinals of the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament at Averett University to advance to Saturday's championship match.

The Scots (26-6) will face Averett at 3 p.m. to determine the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Maryville is seeking its first berth since 2014.

Maggie Mathews led Maryville with 18 kills on 38 attempts. Brianne Sidner had a double-double with 11 kills and 17 digs. She also had two blocks.

Meredith Bonee had 21 assists, 10 digs, six kills and three aces, and Saidee McDaniel had 22 assists and 11 digs.
