D3hoops.com named Maryville College coach Randy Lambert the South Region Coach of the Year while also naming senior guard Calvin Songster to their All-South third team Monday.

The Scots were a preseason top 25 team but lost three of their first four games to open the season following a season-ending knee injury to senior forward Colt Nokes. Lambert adjusted the team's playing style, and Maryville went on to win 20 of its last 24 games to win the USA South and secure a NCAA tournament bid for a second consecutive season.

Songster averaged 15.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 49.8 percent from the floor. He also shot 53.4 percent from behind the 3-point line, which was the second-best mark throughout all three divisions of college basketball.
