A group of former William Blount football players defeated a group from Heritage alumni, 14-8, in the Battle for the Alumni Bell on Saturday at Heritage.

William Blount scored a touchdown in the first quarter but missed the conversion attempt. The Governors held that lead into the fourth quarter when Heritage scored on a run and made the two-point conversion to take an 8-6 lead.

The Governors responded by scoring the winning points on a touchdown and two-point conversion in the final 1 minute, 30 seconds.

Several players were in their 50’s, including the oldest player - a 56-year old who graduated from Heritage in 1979.
